Background and Discussion:

Officers participating in the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) will make enforcement of impaired driving their top priority. Enforcement will occur during the following holiday periods: Christmas/New Year's, Spring Break, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. The goal is to reduce crashes, fatalities, and injuries through high-visibility enforcement and public education. Constable of Precinct 5 seeks to accept the award for the grant period October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027.
