Background and Discussion:

Precinct 4 currently has an inoperative and ineffective manual car wash system that is no longer capable of meeting operational needs. With the continued growth of the Precinct’s bus and pool car fleet, proper maintenance and appearance of vehicles have become increasingly important.

Expected Impact:

A new rollover car wash system will provide an efficient and reliable solution for keeping vehicles clean, extending their useful life, and ensuring they remain in serviceable condition. The proposed system will reduce manual labor, improve turnaround time, and support the long-term maintenance goals of the Precinct’s transportation fleet.

Alternative Options:

Repair of Existing Manual Wash System

•                     Pros: Lower initial cost compared to a full replacement.

•                     Cons: The current system is outdated, labor intensive, and does not provide consistent or effective cleaning for larger vehicles such as buses. Repairs would only serve as a short-term fix and may result in recurring costs.
