Background and Discussion:

A traffic study was conducted at Cypress North Houston Road at Barker Trace Drive, which warranted a traffic signal at the intersection. The traffic signal will enhance safety as it relates to the intersection operations.

Expected Impact:

The installation of the new traffic signal will improve the operations and public safety of the intersection.

Alternative Options:

Intersections are evaluated in accordance with the 2011 Texas Manual on Uniform Control Devices (TMUTCD), which takes into consideration traffic volume, crashes, pedestrian activity, and roadway network. The intersection was evaluated and a traffic signal was warranted. One alternative option is to not install a traffic signal, which may not improve the public safety of the intersection.
