Background and Discussion:

This Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) analyzed configurations of the proposed expansion of the Red Bluff Stormwater Detention Basin and developed a recommended alternative that would optimize and expand the existing dry bottom detention basin.

 

Expected Impact:

The acceptance of this preliminary engineering report will allow the Flood Control District to move towards detailed design of the project to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in the Armand Bayou watershed.

 

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be not approving this Preliminary Engineering Report, which would result in the Flood Control District not proceeding with the final design of this project and flood risk would remain the same in the area.
