Background and Discussion:

The 1310 Prairie Renovations include asbestos testing, proper disposal of asbestos containing material and the renovation of the 9th and 12th floors of the 1310 Prairie location.  The project includes the renovation of approximately 4,790 SF of interior space on the 9th floor and approximately 8,712 SF of interior space on the 12th floor to include life safety fire code compliance, interior demolition, millwork, finishes, lighting, reconfiguring of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and signage.

Expected Impact:

Construction renovation of the 9th and 12th floors of the 1310 Prairie Building would allow for more space to accommodate the expected personnel in the Public Defender’s Office.

Alternative Options:

Award a higher bidder which would increase cost and possibly prolong the start of the renovation.
