Background and Discussion:

Request by the Office of Purchasing Agent for approval of the first renewal option with Berlitz Languages, Inc.  As the most populous county in Texas and the third most populous in the United States, Harris County-anchored by the international city of Houston-is home to more than 100 ethnic groups and cultures. To ensure Harris County can effectively serve its diverse population, it is important to recognize and support employees who are proficient in languages other than English. This capability directly enhances the quality of service we provide to our community.

Expected Impact:

Increased department service delivery by ensuring Harris County’s ability to assist all the constituents we serve.
