Background and Discussion:
This is a request to authorize negotiation for an agreement that will provide final design, bidding and
construction phase services for Halls Bayou Channel Conveyance Improvements Phase II for the Harris
County Flood Control District.
Expected Impact:
The Project seeks to reduce flooding risk in the Halls Bayou tributary P118-08-00 watershed by increasing stormwater conveyance in the tributary. The proposed Phase 2 project includes approximately 3,500 linear feet of channel conveyance improvements along Halls Bayou tributary P118-08-00, from Shreveport Boulevard to the UPRR Embankment, and will include improvements to four culvert crossings along the channels reach.
Alternative Options:
The alternative to approving this item would be to select another engineering firm, which would result in signature delays to completing this project.
