Background and Discussion:

The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library is located inside the Mercer Botanic Gardens at 22306 Aldine Westfield

Rd, Humble, TX 77338. The disaster recovery project involves the repair of damage caused by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, including wall and floor finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and data fixtures and equipment. This change in contract includes five additional calendar days at for hurricane Beryl and repairing a damaged fiber line from the visitor center to the library.

Expected Impact:

This court action would account for necessary changes to the project schedule and budget preventing a breach in contract and having communication to the library building for the visitor center.

Alternative Options:

Should we not move forward with this change in contract order we would not have communication in the library and project would not be completed.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health

_ Transportation

_ Flooding

_ Environment

X Governance and Customer Service
