Background and Discussion: The Alief Median Sculptures Project is an exciting public art initiative led by Harris County Precinct 4 and managed by Metalab as the primary consultant. The project aims to create 1-2 community-driven public sculptures for the Alief neighborhood, fostering local engagement and artistic enrichment. This effort will facilitate the designing, constructing, and installing of these art sculptures along street medians in Alief to celebrate the community and highlight local youth talent. Currently, there are four identified possible locations along S. Kirkwood Rd between Bellaire Blvd and Beechnut St, Including two across from the Alief Neighborhood Center.

Expected Impact: Promote cultural expression and community pride in Alief. Offer practical learning opportunities for local students, nurturing future artists and designers. Involve the community in shaping public art reflective of its identity and diversity.
