Request that the County Judge execute an agreement between the University of Oklahoma and Harris County for a social work internship program that provides supervised field experience throughout Precinct 4 at no cost to the County.

Background and Discussion:
Harris County Precinct 4 will partner with University of Oklahoma to offer social work students practicum education experiences as interns in Precinct 4’s Social Services Department. Under the guidance of the Director of the Social Services Department, interns will provide quality social workers services and resources to Harris County residents as a social worker navigator.

The County will benefit from the services provided by the student interns and in turn will provide professional development and training to the students.
