Background and Discussion:

The RFMC’s purpose is to assist and advise elected officials in their decision making responsibilities by making recommendations on issues related to all aspects of flood management in the Gulf Coast Planning Region. The committee addresses flood and floodplain management issues for the 13-county region. The Regional Flood Management Committee is composed of 28 members and of those 28, Harris County sends 1 representative for the County. Harris County nominates a representative and the HGAC’s Board of Directors approves the appointment. This item is to nominate Alisa Max, as primary representative for Harris County, and Jonathan Steiber, as alternate, to the Regional Flood Management committee for a term ending May 2023.

Expected Impact:

This appointment will ensure the continuity of Harris County’s representation at the Regional Flood Management Committee.
