Background and Discussion:
On May 19, 2020, Commissioners Court approved an Agreement between Harris County, Lone Star Housing and Community Development Corporation, and Granada Terrace Apartments, LP for the Granada Terrace Apartments Project. On March 2022, May 2022, August 2022 and January 2023 Commissioners Court approved the first, second, third and fourth amendments that amended the agreement, respectively. Attached for Commissioners Court approval is the Fifth Amendment to the Agreement between Harris County, Lone Star Housing and Community Development Corporation, and Granada Terrace Apartments, LP for the Granada Terrace Apartments project. The parties desire to: (i) amend said agreement to extend the 18-month construction completion requirement by an additional eight (8) months to February 15, 2024, and (ii) reallocate one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) from the site line item to the construction line item.
Expected Impact:
No change in total fiscal impact. Reallocation of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) from the site line item to the construction line item. The expected impact is to extend the construction contract to allow the timely completion of the project.

The alternative option is that the project will not be completed within the contracted timeframe.
