Background and Discussion:
Harris County Precinct 2 submitted a BetterStreets2Neighborhoods (BS2N) project request to the Office of the County Engineer to address roadway repairs within the Beaumont Place subdivision in Precinct 2. This project is anticipated to cover approximately 11 miles of roadway. The scope will primarily consist of asphalt milling and overlay of existing roadways, along with base repairs in areas where underlying pavement failure is identified.

Expected Impact:
The project aims to improve overall roadway conditions throughout Beaumont Place by addressing surface deterioration and localized structural deficiencies. Work will generally include milling and overlay of asphalt pavement, as well as base repairs where necessary to support long-term pavement performance. No formal engineering design is anticipated; instead, the on-call contractor will evaluate and address priority areas to maximize the extent of improvements within the available budget. These efforts are expected to enhance ride quality, improve safety, and extend the service life of the roadway network.

Alternative Options:
If this project is not approved, Precinct 2 would need to pursue alternative methods to address roadway maintenance needs within Beaumont Place. This may include rebidding the work as a standalone project or utilizing other available on-call contracts to perform the necessary milling, overlay, and base repairs.
