Background and Discussion:
In 2023, Harris County was awarded two grants by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to increase outreach and assist constituents with the sign-up and enrollment process to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), including the National Competitive Outreach Grant Program (NCOP).
Due to Congressional inaction, the last fully funded month for the benefit was April 2024. This request is to decertify the NCOP due to the termination of federal funding.
Expected Impact:
The decertification of the NCOP would raise the need to reallocate funds to a new funding source.
Alternative Options: N/A. The grant needs to be decertified to adhere with County policy and procedures.
