Background and Discussion:
The City of Houston received a $1.0 Million Urban Outdoor Recreation grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) in 2023, for the reconstruction of the park that has been in existence since 1945 and serves the Denver Harbor Community. Harris County has been invited to partner with the City of Houston to design and construct improvements to further enhance the recreational items included by the grant.
Expected Impact:
These improvements are aligned with the goal of providing increased recreational opportunities for the public, by providing trail, parking drainage, public safety and other improvements to the neighborhood park.
Alternative Options:
Not approving the amendment would result in only a partial renovation of the park and the need to make future improvements in the future.
