Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction scope for this project. The Yale Stormwater
Detention Basin project includes a wet bottom detention basin with an inflow side weir and flap gate outfall pipe, adjacent to E101-00-00 (Little White Oak Bayou). The Project is located southeast of the intersection at W. Tidwell Road and Yale Street, in the White Oak Bayou Watershed. The purpose of this contract modification is to reconcile the estimated quantities with the actual quantities of completed work.
Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.
Alternative Options:
This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
