Background and Discussion:

On November 14, 2023, Commissioners Court approved an updated position management policy that implemented a formal review and approval process for departmental requests for reclassifications and changes to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status. The policy was amended on May 7, 2024, to streamline the process.  Requested changes to position classifications are attached for approval.

Amend the policy to exclude items for court approval where the salary range maximum will be less than $50 per hour, if the salary range is not changing, or if the salary range maximum is decreasing except for any reclassifications that may result in a Senate Bill 23 budget impact. Any reclassifications not requiring court approval will continue to be submitted as a transmittal on the agenda.
