Request for approval to decree that the Harris County Flood Control District project serves a public purpose and public necessity, which requires that the Harris County Real Property Division be directed to acquire one fee simple tract for the public project known as Hazard Mitigation Grant Program DR-4332 Buyout, for the purpose of buyout to prevent future flood damage (Bond ID Z-Buyout, Project ID Z100-00-00-H065, Tract K100-00-00-13-834.0, Precinct 1).

Background and Discussion:
This is a request in a voluntary buyout project using HMGP-DR4332 funds to purchase homes in the Flood Control District identified buyout areas. The tract is being revised to include additional lot that is owned by the property owner, who wished to include it once the original offer was made on the previous property. This changed the legal description of the property, requiring revised public necessity approval.
