Background and Discussion:

This agreement encompasses final design and the provision of bidding and construction phase engineering services for channel improvements along South Mayde Creek from Fry Road to Greenhouse Road. The improvements primarily focus on increasing channel conveyance capacity to drain water eastward more effectively into the Addicks Reservoir and lower water surface elevations to reduce future flood risk in the surrounding areas. Construction of this project will be completed with CDBG-MIT funding. This project occurs in the 2nd quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.

Expected Impact:

The recommended project potentially provides benefit due to a reduction in depth and frequency of flooding.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to select a different consultant which will delay progress on

this project.
