Background and Discussion:

The intent of this Contract is to restore tributaries of Hunting Bayou to original operating conditions. Major emphasis of the project work orders will be storm sewer outfall repairs, including but not limited to removal and disposal of manholes, removal and disposal of failed outfalls, installation of manholes, installation of outfall, import fill, erosion repair, riprap installation, sediment removal, and related items.

Expected Impact:

By restoring the channel to original operating conditions, this will improve conveyance to the main channel.

 Alternative Options:

The “Do Nothing” option would mean that the channel erosion continues to worsen prompting more expensive repairs in the future.  This could put some neighborhoods at risk for backwater flooding by not maintaining the capacity to the channels.
