Background and Discussion:
The Pedestrian Improvements - Various Locations project consists of replacing the existing rail with up-to-date railing standard, sidewalk replacement and placing new sidewalk in various locations within Harris County. Major work activities include removal of existing guardrail, removal of handrail, concrete sidewalk, concrete curb ramp, Metal Beam Guardrail Fence with Mow Strip, Pedestrian and Traffic railing replacement to the up-to-date standard in Harris County - Precinct 3.
The Changes in contract include:
• A new line item is needed to Sawcut existing concrete sidewalk and Install PR11 Foundation to complete the work proposed per the revised plan with an additional cost of $13,161.60 and 21 Calendar days.
• A new line item is needed to provide a 12-inch foundation for the combination Rail and sidewalk to complete the work proposed per the revised plan with an additional cost of 21,874.58 and 2 calendar days.
• A new line item is needed to remove existing concrete sidewalk to complete the proposed work per revised plan with an additional cost of $4,048.17 and 1 calendar day.
• A new line item is needed to remove existing concrete and Install traffic Rail foundation -Grade beam to complete the proposed work per revised plan with an additional cost of $23,009.64 and 0 calendar day.
• An additional Traffic Control is needed for the existing line item # 13 to complete the proposed work in change order #2 due to design error and field condition with an additional cost of $12,000.00 and 45 calendar days.
