Background and Discussion:

Harris County Engineering Department received American Rescue Plan Act funding for wastewater and water projects. Through a vetting process, the Westfield Estates Sanitary Sewer System project was selected. The scope of work includes sanitary sewer lines, manholes, a lift station, a force main, connections to properties, and abandonment of septic systems. The project brings a public sewer system to an area where residents use septic systems, many of which are failing and can contaminate roadside ditches and public waterways. Since federal funds are being used, procurement of professional services and construction services must follow federal procurement guidelines. Construction Materials Testing professional services are needed during the construction phase of the project.

Expected Impact:

Construction Materials Testing ensures that construction materials meet the project specifications.

Alternative Options:

No alternative option. Construction Materials Testing Services are required for construction projects.
