Background and Discussion:

On August 6, 2024, Harris County Commissioners Court approved the PY2024 Annual Action Plan for ESG Entitlement funds, which included a Harris County Homeless Program that is supported by the four (4) project activities listed below.

 

1.                     Covenant House Texas for Street Outreach Program for Homeless Youth/Young Adults in the amount of $50,000,

2.                     Houston Area Women’s Center for Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter in the amount of $135,010,

3.                     HTX H.O.P.E. Haven for Street Outreach in the amount of $100,000, and

4.                     The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. for Emergency Housing Project in the amount of $68,601.

 

Expected Impact:

The project activities will benefit individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The total cost of the Agreements is $353,611.00 and is totally funded with PY2024 ESG funds.

 

Alternative Options:

If the agreements are not approved, then homeless persons will not benefit from the project activities.
