Background and Discussion:

This agreement renewal will allow Horsepen Bayou Municipal Utility District to continue to construct and maintain various recreation amenities on Flood Control District right-of-way, including hike and bike trails.

Expected Impact:

By entering into a hike and bike agreement with Horsepen Bayou Municipal Utility District, it will allow the HBMUD to construct sidewalks and features for the enjoyment of the community.  It also reduces maintenance responsibilities for the District as Horsepen Bayou Municipal Utility District will be responsible for the vegetation management in the agreement area.

Alternative Options:

If this interlocal agreement is not executed, Horsepen Bayou Municipal Utility District will not be able to construct the proposed trail for use by the public.
