Background and Discussion:
Equipment such as the High Water Vehicles are designed to operate in areas of severe flooding or high water enabling first responders to reach and evacuate stranded people these vehicle became prominent after major disasters like Hurricane Harvey. This agency has obtained a helicopter through this program to provide aerial patrol and disaster support providing an enhanced level of security to the citizens of Harris County.
Expected Impact:
Allows the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to participate in the LESO Program to continue to obtain equipment from our Federal partners to enhance and sustain our Justice, Safety, and Flood Rescue goals.
