Background and Discussion:
This is a request to approve right-of-way acquisition for Keegans Stormwater Detention Basin Phase 3 in the Brays Bayou watershed. These four tracts to be acquired are located near the intersection of Synott Road and Old Richmond Road. This project phase implements the second and third basin compartments of the Keegans detention basin system, along with improvements to the D118-14-00 channel.
Expected Impact:
These properties along with the other two implementation phases will be used to provide up to 437 ac-ft of stormwater detention through multiple basin compartments, benefiting approximately 560 structures during a 100-year storm event.
Alternative Options:
Not approving this item would result in not fully realizing the anticipated flood risk reduction benefits.
