Background and Discussion:

In May 2018 Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement whereby the County received the “Little Baker” facility in return for agreeing to upgrade the Community Supervision & Corrections Department (CSCD) at Atascocita. Court amended the interlocal agreement on June 30, 2020 clarifying the cost and timeline to modify the CSCD facility. The project has two phases; Phase 1, which is complete, consisted of site and utility improvements and four modular dormitory buildings containing 228 beds. The Phase 2 expansion serving the Dual Diagnosis Residential Program is under construction. The expansion scope will provide service for an additional 700 clients totaling up to 1,000 beds on campus and will include additional dormitories, a classroom building, cafeteria/clinic building, and a reception center to contain administration and visitor facilities.

Expected Impact:

To complete the project and provide more resilient FF&E for the facility. Due to the durability and longevity needs of this facility, the FF&E package will include specification of new, safe, durable, and multifunctional furniture for all phases of the project including the dormitories, clinic, and administration / visitation building.

Alternative Options:
