Background and Discussion:
Fairmont Parkway Segment 4 is part of a four-segment project that includes constructing an additional outside lane in each direction, repair and/or overlay of existing pavement, adding new sidewalks and improve drainage. The project also includes restriping of the UPRR bridges to accommodate the additional lanes and pedestrian traffic. A portion of the project is in the City of La Porte.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to improve transportation and pedestrian mobility by improving road conditions to enhance traffic flow and provide smoother and safer travel for motorists, while also creating a pedestrian-friendly environment by constructing sidewalks, promoting active transportation, and improving overall pedestrian access.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the consultant will not be able to complete the scope of work.
