Background and Discussion:

The Harris County Public Health Mosquito and Vector Control Division (MVC) is charged with protecting

residents from mosquito-borne diseases using an integrated mosquito management approach. One of the

tools MVC uses to reduce adult mosquito populations is ultra-low volume (ULV) spraying of insecticides. To

accurately monitor and record MVC ULV data, a system (software and hardware) is needed for each ULV

vehicle. This renewal will provide MVC with the opportunity to receive immediate technical support as the

continue to protect residents from mosquito-borne diseases.

Expected Impact:

This system allows MVC to accurately monitor all ULV adulticide activities, including chemical usage and

vehicle tracking. Software maintenance and monitoring will increase efficiency and accuracy of treatment

regimen, quality and assurance and quality control for data collected while protecting Harris County residents

form mosquito-borne diseases.
