Background and Discussion:
The City of Houston and Harris County through Harris County Constable 1’s Environment Crimes Unit have entered into an agreement to provide law enforcement to reduce illegal dumping through deterrence, education, enforcement and community collaboration. Harris County Constable Precinct 1 was approved to utilize ARPA funding to purchase camera systems that will help reduce environmental crimes of illegal dumping throughout the community.
Expected Impact:
The approval of this amendment will allow Harris County Constable Precinct 1 to increase their efforts to prevent and deter illegal dumping what has a direct effect on our environment.
