Background and Discussion:

This Agreement will provide the Jackson Bayou area with flood reduction benefits through engineering design of channel modifications on R500-01-00-E001 and a stormwater detention basin. The project has a prioritization score in the 2nd quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.

Expected Impact:

During a 100-year flood event, it is estimated that 18 structures will no longer flood, 21 structures will have reduced flooding, and 66.8 acres and 1.5 roadway miles will be removed from the floodplain.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to select a different consultant which could prevent the Flood Control District from meeting CDBG funding deadlines.
