Background and Discussion:

In order to perform the over 600 annual traffic study requests from precincts and constituents, traffic data collection, including but not limited to 24-hour and 13-hour turning movement counts, 24-hour tube counts, and 24-hour pedestrian counts, is needed to conduct the required engineering analyses and traffic operation evaluations.

Expected Impact:

The contract renewal will allow professional engineers to obtain traffic data to support their traffic studies and evaluate whether additional traffic control devices are needed to improve operations.

Alternative Options:

Performing field observations only or using published data, both of which do not have the same level of accuracy and may not adequately represent existing traffic conditions.
