Background and Discussion:
Harris County Public Health (HCPH) is seeking to establish a partnership with HOPE Clinic to expand access to health services through the co-location of services at HCPH’s Annex 38 facility.
The proposed agreement will allow HOPE Clinic to operate from designated clinical space within the facility while leveraging existing shared clinical and support areas. The initial arrangement is intended to serve as a pilot to evaluate service utilization, operational needs, and opportunities for future expansion.
Under the proposed agreement, HOPE Clinic will initially utilize two dedicated exam rooms, totaling approximately 257 square feet, with access to shared areas necessary to support clinical operations, including laboratory space, restrooms, clinical storage, staff breakroom, and conference room space.
The proposed lease supports HCPH’s efforts to maximize the use of existing County facilities and strengthen partnerships with community healthcare providers. Co-locating HOPE Clinic within Annex 38 provides an opportunity to increase access to services while utilizing existing clinical infrastructure and shared resources.
The pilot arrangement will also allow HCPH and HOPE Clinic to assess operational compatibility, demand for services, and opportunities for a longer-term partnership before committing additional space or resources.
