Background and Discussion:
Between 2004 and 2016, Harris County Commissioners Court approved agreements for the following 14 affordable rental housing projects:
• Baybrook Park Retirement Center- Precinct 2
• Cypresswood Estates - Precinct 1
• Heritage Estates - Precinct 1
• HomeTowne at Tomball - Precinct 3
• Jane Cizik Garden Place- Precinct 4
• Louetta Village Apartments -Precinct 3
• Magnolia Estates Precinct 2
• Pilgrim Place II - Precinct 2
• Retreat at Westlock- Precinct 3
• Sierra Meadows - Precinct 1
• The Men's Center - Precinct 1
• The Villas at Eastwood- Precinct 1
• Waterside Court - Precinct 2
• Woodland Christian Towers - Precinct 2
The Amendments align unit inspection requirements with updated HUD regulations regarding inspection frequency and sample size as well as acceptance of other federal inspections within the past 12 months that confirm the assisted units are decent, safe, sanitary and in good repair under the National Standards for the Condition of HUD housing or other HUD-approved standard.
The amendments do not change project funding, unit counts, or affordability periods. All other provisions of the agreements remain in effect.
