Request for approval of an interlocal agreement with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas for HCIFS employees to provide consulting and testifying expert services and assistance to the OAG in connection with the OAG’s legal representation of the State of Texas.

Background and Discussion:
The agreement allows for HCIFS to provide unpaid consulting and/or testifying expert services for the OAG, namely in connection with Texas v. William Darin Irvan, No. 864928 (180th Dist. Ct., Harris Co.). HCIFS shall furnish expert examinations, observations, opinions, consultations, analyses, reports, testimony, and other services upon the request of the OAG at no cost.
Expected Impact:
This agreement supports the IFS goal of excellence in forensic medicine and science in service to the Harris County community and the pursuit of justice by assisting the OAG in relevant cases affecting Harris County and the State of Texas.
