Background and Discussion:

In order to perform the over 400 traffic study requests from precincts and constituents, traffic data collection, including but not limited to 24-and 13-hour turning movement counts, 24-hour tube counts, and 24-hour pedestrian counts, are needed to perform the required engineering analyses and traffic operations evaluations.

Expected Impact:

The contract renewal will allow professional engineers to obtain traffic data in support of performing their traffic studies and evaluate if any additional traffic control devices are needed to improve operations.

Alternative Options:

Perform field observations only or used published data. Both of which will not provide the same level of accuracy as counts.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health
