Background and Discussion:
The project includes contracting a vendor to construct the sitework and the foundations for the structures related to the new fire training tower (burn building) and flashover chamber at the Fire Marshal's Office, all complete, operational and in place in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Expected Impact:
This project is to construct the sitework and the foundations for a multipurpose live fire, rescue, and tactical Burn Building and Flash Chamber that would facilitate advanced training of law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services (EMS), educational entities, and industrial partners. The result of this training will position emergency responders to be better prepared to address fire/life safety issues.
Alternative Options:
There is no alternative, the new burn building has been awarded under a different contract, and the foundations are required to place the new burn building and flashover chamber.
