Project Description:
The project aims to purchase (6) new vehicles and equipment for the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office to be utilized by the Executive Protection Unit.
Project Scope:
The Fleet Acquisition aims to enhance operational efficiency and reliability within the FMO’s daily operations. The anticipated vehicles, detailed below, are strategically designed to elevate performance and meet evolving demands.

Justification:
In alignment with the County policy on non-voted commercial paper, we seek an allocation of $575,000 for the acquisition of approximately (6) new vehicles and equipment to be attributed to the County Judge’s Office non-voted debt allocation for FY24-25. The current equipment capacity falls short and relies on staff members’ personal vehicles.
Alternatives and Engagement:
The alternative for not acquiring new vehicles and equipment would be to continue utilizing staff’s personal vehicles and/or rental vehicles currently being utilized.
