Background and Discussion:

This construction contract will provide repairs, upgrades, and modifications consisting of various replacements for the Northeast segment of the Toll Road. sign sheeting and pavement marking fade over time and have typical life cycle of 7 to 10 years. As reflectivity diminishes, it is harder to identify travelling lanes and read signs in nighttime and under heavy rain conditions thus causing driver safety issues. The existing signs and pavement marking along Sam Houston Northeast corridor have exceeded its life cycle.

On November 12, 2024, Commissioners Court approved to advertise for Bid proposal.

Expected Impact:

This construction contract will provide the necessary improvements to maintain the HCTRA roadway and facilities; to ensure that the toll road system provides reliable and safe transportation to the traveling public.
