Background and Discussion:

The Sam Houston Tollway East / State Highway (SH) 225 Direct Connector Project will ultimately add eight

direct connectors to improve freeway access between the two roadways. Existing ramp access to/from the

freeway and adjacent, SH 225 frontage roads will be adjusted in accordance with the approved schematic.

Acquisition of additional right-of-way (ROW) is necessary to accommodate the adjustments. The ROW to be

acquired is a mix of industrial and commercial properties located on the SH225 frontage Road between

Northbound Sam Houston Tollway and Deerwood Glen Drive. The parcel is needed to support the direct connector overpass construction that is included with the project.

 

Expected Impact:

This project aligns with Harris County’s goals of providing accessible, affordable, equitable, reliable, safe and

sustainable transportation options and networks to facilitate efficient movement of people and goods

throughout the region.
