Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request for approval to enter into a project development agreement with TxDOT to expand the current authorized use of State right-of-way to permit the Harris County Toll Road Authority to construct safety and operational improvements to the Sam Houston Tollway on various segments from Ella Boulevard (on the north side of the system) to State Highway 225 (on the east side of the system) as part of the Barrier-Free HCTRA Program for reimbursement to TxDOT in the amount of $235,572.07 that will be payable to TxDOT within ten (10) business days of the effective date of this agreement (Countywide).
end
Background and Discussion:
As part of the implementation of the Barrier-Free program, there are various planned improvements ranging from adding auxiliary lanes to the mainlanes, new toll gantries, and intersection safety improvements along the Sam Houston Tollway between the identified limits. Since these improvements are all within existing TxDOT Right-of-Way, an agreement with TxDOT is necessary to allow for all improvements to be constructed, operated and maintained.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow for the BFH Program to proceed forward without delays to support the system planning, engineering, sustainability, and tolling for customers as well as communities within Harris County.
Alternative Options:
There are no other recommended solutions for this identified need.
