Background and Discussion:

Precinct 4 seeks approval to collaborate with the Building a Better Life Foundation to install and maintain Little Libraries and to provide free literacy programming at designated community centers and parks. The Foundation will conduct inspections, restock books, host monthly Book Exchange events, and deliver educational workshops at no cost to residents or the County. Precinct 4 will support by identifying locations, providing space, and coordinating registration and outreach.

Expected Impact:

This collaboration will expand access to books, literacy activities, and educational workshops for residents of all ages. The initiative is expected to strengthen community engagement by creating welcoming, accessible spaces for reading and learning. Ongoing data collection will help evaluate program effectiveness and guide future literacy efforts.
