Background and Discussion:

Requesting approval for advertisement of a project seeking qualifications from qualified professional firm(s) to

provide on-call Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for various projects for the Harris County Flood Control District. Based on forecasted need, HCFCD expects to award multiple firms with experience, capabilities, and qualified available staff to provide construction engineering and inspection services for various sized and scoped projects.

Expected Impact:

Provide for a Registry of on-call construction engineering and inspection services agreements for Flood Control

projects. Services will be performed primarily to provide construction management and inspection services during the construction phase. Serve as project managers and field representatives for one or more assigned projects. These agreements will facilitate expedited construction and engineering support for projects.

Alternative Options:

The alternative would be to individually advertise with an RFQ for each project, which would increase the resources involved in procurement processes and extend significantly the timelines for construction of projects.
