Background and Discussion:
This project consists of the reconstruction and widening of Treaschwig Road (Phase 2) from west of Whittaker Way to East of Birnam Wood Boulevard. The scope includes drainage improvements, construction of a new bridge over the creek, traffic signal installation, striping, and all other miscellaneous safety enhancements required.
This change in Contract includes:
(PCO #1, RFI #1) revises the temporary detour roadway from asphalt to a cement-stabilized section with overlay, as approved by the County and Precinct. In addition, revised drainage drawings were issued by the Engineer of Record adding new inlets and ditching to improve ensure proper drainage. A ten (10) calendar-day time extension is approved for the added work with a overall cost change of $1.00.
Expected Impact:
Office of the County Engineer implemented a value-engineered revision to the temporary detour roadway, generating a contract credit that offsets the added temporary drainage revisions, which is required for proper drainage during construction phase. Since the detour is temporary, there is no impact to the final roadway, and the net Change Order is $1.00.
