Background and Discussion:

The Commissioner of Precinct 1, along with Commissioners of Precincts 2 and 3 and the Office of County Engineering, are applying on behalf of Harris County for the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grant Program which supports planning, infrastructure, and behavioral and operational initiatives to prevent fatalities and serious injuries on roads and streets involving all roadway users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation, motorists and commercial vehicle operators. The request will be $25,000,000 with a $6,250,000 match which will come from the three precincts.

 

Expected Impact:

 To provide infrastructure to reduce serious injuries and fatalities.
