Background and Discussion:
The project consists of construction of Treaschwig Road Segment A Phase 1 project consists of reconstruction and widening of Treaschwig Road from a 2-lane asphalt to a 4-lane concrete roadway from 1000’ west of Aldine Westfield to west of Cypress Creek. Additionally, extend intersection improvements at Aldine Westfield by 500’ North and South of Treaschwig Road. Project will construct a wet bottom detention pond adjacent to Cypress Creek.
This change in contracts includes:
• Change includes cost and time for EZ fiber conflict delay ($287,883.68 - 3 days).
• Cost of adding new bid item for additional clearing for installation of outfall at detention basin ($9,376.61).
• Cost includes quantity adjustment for profile modification requested by Precinct 3 to avoid potential private fences and gates relocation along the Right-of-Way (-$114,360.00).
Expected Impact:
Change allows the contractor to be compensated for delay caused by utility conflict, paid for extra clearing for installation of outfall and quantity adjustments for profile modification.
Alternative Options:
Had the utility owner to relocate their line before construction started, install the proposed inlets and leads per original plan which would cause extra cost of relocation of fences and gates.
