Request for approval to accept from Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) the donation of equipment with an estimated value of $13,000 to be used to conduct water quality monitoring and assessment.

Background and Discussion:
The donations consist of two items: (1) ProDSS Sonde (Water monitoring/sampling), with an estimated value of $8000 and Sampling consumables (sample containers, etc.), with an estimated value of $5000. These donations are valued at about $13,000 in total. There are no restrictions on these items. These items would be given to PCS “on long-term load in support of the Clean Rivers Program,” per Jenny Oakley with H-GAC.
Expected Impact:
This equipment would be used to conduct water quality monitoring and assessment, to improve surface water quality in the Harris County region.
Alternative Options:
If the donations are denied, Pollution Control will not be able to accept them from H-GAC. This equipment is useful for the water quality monitoring we conduct as participants in the Clean Rivers Program.
