Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request for approval of amendment No. 2 to an agreement with Huitt-Zollars, Inc., in the amount of $3,000,000, to provide additional engineering and architectural services in support of the District’s engineering, maintenance, architectural, and federal programs (Agreement No. 2021-32, Countywide, MWBE Contracted Goal: 20%).
end
Background and Discussion:
This is a request for a 2nd amendment to agreement 2021-32 that will provide on-call professional services to include architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical design services, inspection, and construction phase services. These services will provide support for infrastructure maintenance work that will be executed as a result of the passage of Proposition A in November 2024.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow the Flood Control District to retain Huitt-Zollars, Inc. to provide on-call engineering services for the Federal Channel Maintenance Program and Facility Maintenance. This will increase the Flood Control District’s capacity for Facility Maintenance services along with compliance with the agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Alternative Options:
The alternative to approving this item would be not in compliance with the agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the repair program to improve the Federal Channel’s condition and not provide the electrical/mechanical services for Facility Maintenance.
