Background and Discussion:

The Traffic and Pedestrian Study - Old Town Spring evaluated on-street parking, sidewalks, shared-use paths, pedestrian and ADA ramps, crosswalks, signage, etc. Services also included evaluating existing emergency signal devices to determine if modifications or replacements were needed to improve public safety. A public outreach campaign was conducted with Precinct 3 to seek input from the Old Town Spring Improvement District (OTSID). The area included streets west of the Spring Cypress Road and Brandt Road intersection, Preston Avenue to the north, east of West Hardy Road, and south just past Spring School Road.

Expected Impact:

This study evaluated all roads within OTSID and provided recommendations for traffic and pedestrian improvements and/or safety. Recommendations allow for strategic implementation based on the data collected and outreach performed.

Alternative Options:

Without this study and recommendations, the Old Town Spring area would continue to feel the effects of a transportation and mobility infrastructure that does not meet the infrastructure and safety needs of the residents, businesses, and visitors.
