Request Summary (Agenda Caption):

title

Request for adoption of a resolution establishing a consultation agent to foster employee engagement in the development of personnel policies and improved handling of employee grievances and disciplinary matters.

end

Background and Discussion:

Harris County Commissioners Court will vote on whether to adopt a resolution establishing a consultation agent to foster employee engagement.

Expected Impact:

If Commissioners Court adopts the resolution, qualified employees will have the option to select a labor organization to serve as a consultation agent to consult with a group of designated supervisory employees to improve communication and foster engagement between employees of Harris County and Harris County management over personnel practices and thereby to maintain and ultimately enhance high-quality county services.

Alternative Options:

No consultation agent or change in processes to develop personnel policies or handling of employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
